Tutorial: How To Request a YouTube API key
Step 1: To request a YouTube API key from Google, head to https://cloud.google.com and sign in using your Google Account.
Note: We recommend using a personal (non-institutional) Gmail for smooth process.

Step 2: Once logged in, go to your Google Cloud Console by selecting “Console” at the top right of your screen.

Step 3: Once you enter the Google Cloud Console, if it is your first time, you will be prompted with a welcome message. Select your “Country“, review the Terms of Services, then select “Agree and Continue“.

Step 4: Select the search bar at the top of the page and type “youtube data api”. Some options should appear automatically, under the MARKETPLACE section, select “YouTube Data API v3“.

Step 5: Once at the YouTube Data API v3 product page, select “Enable“. The YouTube Data API v3 is currently free with a quota of 10,000 daily calls.

Step 6: Create or select an existing project (e.g., “My First Project“). To use the API with this project, select the “Create Credentials” button to create an API Key. You can select this option from the “APIs & Services” page under the “Enabled APIs & services” section.

Step 7: Under “Credentials” -> “Credential Type“, select “Youtube Data API v3″ from the “Select an API *” dropdown menu, then select “Public Data” and press the “Next” button.

Step 8: Under the “Your Credentials” section, press the copy button to save your new API key to your computer’s clipboard and press the “Done” button.

Step 9: Go to Communalytic and select your profile from the top right by pressing the “My Profile” menu option.

Step 10: On the My Profile page, under the “API Keys” section, select “Enter Key” next to “YouTube API“.

Step 11: Paste your new YouTube API key into the input box, then press “Submit“.
